O CACCIUTTIELLO E GUARDIA

Ce’ sta’ stu’ canille a casa e rimpetto
e’ pitte e carillo cu’ na bella faccella
allucca a tutt’ora cu’ senza rispetto
f’a’ guardia a sta’ casa da dinte o canciello

a gente che passa se mette a paura
pecche’ m’poste e zampe comme nu lione
se torce e se gira ma fa’ sule bravura
e sta’ sule zitte quanne vede o patrone

io u chiamme a jiurnate e isso me vede
cu’ a me ca’ canosce fa’ poca ammuina
e sape ca’ io a cierte mosse nun u crede
e vo’ ca’ l’accarezze quase tutte e matine

pure si e’ pitte e abbaia seriamente
e po’ a me sape pecche’ o veche spisse
isse se crede e spaventa’ a chesta gente
ma io saccio ca’ u cane a paura primo isse

THE LITTLE GUARD DOG

There is this little dog at the house across the street
he is very small and cute with a beautiful face
he barks at all hours without respect
and guards his house from inside the fence

The people that pass by are really scared of him
because he stands with his paws like little lion
he runs and turn making all kind of skill moves
and he is only quite when he sees the owner

I call him every day and he sees me standing there
with me that he knows he stops showing off
he knows that I don’t believe at his moves
but he wants me to pet him almost every morning

Even if he is so small and barks very seriously
and then he knows me that I know him so well.
he thinks that he is scaring off every one else
but I know that the poor dog, is scared himself
