Pria la sera cade
s’ode la campana
che canta il Vespro.

S’ode il gorgogliare
del fiume che si snoda,
tra rive pietrose, a mare.

Il canto delle rondini
s’intona alla musica del vento.

one hears a bell
singing Vespers.

One feels the gurgle
of the unwinding river,
from stony banks to the sea.

Chatter of swallows
intones to the music of the wind.
