Veniette a chistu munno, pe’ bie e chesta perzona
ca’ m’amparato a vivere, e darme nu’ mestiere
l’aggio guardato aute, da quann’io ero guaglione
e sempe rispettato cu’ ammore e cu’ piacere
Oggi pur’io so’ patre, e pur’io tengo e figli
ca’ me vonne tantu bene, e me’ portene rispetto
Nun ci’amma maie scurda’ , chi’ porta o pane a casa
Io spero ca’ tutte e figli, so’ accussi’ furtunate
d’ave’ nu’ patre buono, comme o tengo e l’aggi’avuto
ca’ tutte a gente do’ paese, hanno sempe rispettate
pe’ nuie figli suoie, fuie na’ grazia c’avimme avuto
Oggi stamme tutti ca’, pe’ chistu compleanno

io sto preganne a Dio, ca’ le da’ nati cient’anne
pecche’ pateme pe’ me’, e’ stato chiu’ e na’ colonna

MY FATHERS BIRTHDAY
I came to this world because of this person,
that thought me how to live and gave me a work trade
I’ve looked at him high from my childhood ,
and always respect him with love and pleasure
Today I’m also a father and have my own children,
that love me so much and respect me
my father always thought me the love for the family,
and I’m trying to pass it on to them like my father did
They say children love their mothers best,
because she has to breast feeds them she hugs and kisses them
but without a good father we would damn go hungry,
we should never forget who brings home the bread
I hope all the children would be so very fortunate,
to have a good father like I have and he has been
that the people of my home town always respected
for us his children was a grace we receive
Today we are all here because its his birthday,
my dad is 93 by the grace of the Virgin Mary
I’m praying the Lord to give him another a hundred years,
because my dad for me, has been more than a pillar of strength
