A VACANZA A ISCHIA
 
Io parto da’ California pe’ sta’ vacanza
e vengo sempe a Ischia a stu’ paese mio
ogn’annno aggia’ veni’ senghe a mancanza
e turna’ a sta’ bella Isula cu’ nustalgia
 
arrivo a Roma o a Napule cu’ Jet
e continue stu’ viaggie pe’ Pezzule
appena mecche o pede n’coppe o draghetto
gia’ senghe sta’ bell’addore e pasta e fasule
 
a Ischia io stonghe sempe cu’ a famiglia
e cu’ tanti amici ca’ ce riunimme a pranzo
cu’ linguine e vongole e bucatini e cuniglio
si vide comme tengh’io mo’ sta’ panza
 
Madonna comme passene subete tre semmane
gia’ e tiempe e fa’ e valigie e turna’ a casa
ma io parto felice pe’ ce’ turna’ dimane
salutanne a tutti cu’ ammore abbraccie e vase

MY VACATION TO ISCHIA
 
I leave California for this vacation of mine
And always come to Ischia to my home town
Every year I have to return I feel the emptiness
And return to this beautiful Island with nostalgia
 
I arrive in Rome or to Naples with the Jet
and continue the trip to Pozzuoli
as soon as I step aboard the Ferry
I’m already smelling the pasta e fagioli
 
At Ischia I always stay with my family
and with lots of friends that we get together for dinner
with linguine and clams or pasta and rabbit
you should see how big my belly is now
 
Ho Madonna ! how fast three weeks go by
It’s already time to pack suitcases and return home
but I leave happy and content to return tomorrow
saying goodbye to all with love, hugs and kisses
