THE FEAST OF SAINT ANN AT ISCHIA PONTE
At Ischia Ponte near the beach rocks at sea there this little church from many years ago Its so pretty that that you can’t hardly see it It’s the little church of Saint Ann by the rocks
July 26 in Ischia we celebrate the feast of Saint Ann the feast dedicated just for the fisherman’s the centennial feast that has continued for many years with street vendors, street lights, concerts and musicians
They decorate ships, barges, the bridge, and small boats with comic scenes, paper Mache Castles and sea lamps parading in the ocean from Ponte to the Castello with a huge light display shining the sea
They compete for first prize for decoration to win Municipal prize money to bad that after so much work and dedication the first prize goes to one boat only
Every year in this feast and competition have entered to compete, poets, writers and painters their name appear with devotion for honoring Saint Ann, and to exhibit their talent
Late in the evening just about midnight the entire Castello is lighted with thousands of flairs with many watching on they star the fireworks and the celebration ends with a fireworks competition
